Speech-Language Pathology services are available to the home health care patient and are provided to enhance the patient’s functional abilities in their home environment relative to their primary illness or reason for home health care admission. Our therapists will evaluate levels of speech, language, or swallowing difficulty, then identify treatment goals and create an individualized treatment plan that addresses specific functional needs. Speech-language pathology treatment programs are developed and individualized for each patient based on their specific treatment goal. Our speech therapists are there to teach and promote maximum function and independence and to prevent further decline in functional abilities. The goal of speech-language pathology is not necessarily to restore normality but to allow the patient to return to a comfortable and productive life even if the problem persists.
